In 1993, we entered a transformative joint venture with an affiliate of SSA Marine, a US-based global port operator. This partnership ushered in two decades of rapid expansion and operational refinement, introducing international best practices to our local operations. During this era, we strengthened our foundations and expanded our national presence, gaining the expertise that would eventually allow us to stand independently.

In 2017, we underwent a major rebrand to officially become South Africa Cargo Services (SA CARGO), adopting a modern identity aligned with our unified national service offering. By 2018, we returned to 100% South African ownership, severing historical international ties to focus fully on local excellence. Since then, we have continued to modernise, launching new bulk containerisation facilities and reinforcing our status as a proudly local industry leader.
